Moreover, having the chance to interview Nikki Lynn on her journey as young founder plus understanding the inspiration concept behind the NIKKI EXPRESSION. How she turned her love for poetry into clothing line. Keep on writing because this is going to be an interesting feature.

Welcome Nikki, please tell us about yourself?

My name is Nikki Lynn and I am the founder of Nikki Expressions and #PassionToProfit. I am originally from a small town in central California but am now living in the Monterey Peninsula. I have always been in sales and had a taste for technology. I have worked multiple sales roles for different companies however I never found myself fully fulfilled. I also am a writer and wanted to start being more creative which is something that I was unable to do in my previous roles.

What is the inspiration behind your brand #conquerwithcreativity? And Nikki Expressions?

#conquerwithcreativity was inspired to help writers who have thought about publishing but are shy or don’t know how to publish help them publish their book confidently. I also created the course to have a solid group where writers can come together and get feedback from one another as well as use writing as a way to help with any mental health issues they have that they may use writing as an outlet for.

What is the process for someone to take your course?

Currently, the course is taught by me in live trainings. It will launch on 11.24.18. We have a one hour group coaching session per week where I will give everyone “homework" to help them publish their first book confidently”. My course is more niche now and targeted specifically towards writers. Payment to take the course is accepted securely through stripe.

How did you get your start in the fashion industry?

I’ve always loved the idea of fashion but never considered myself a fashionista. I wear very plain clothes usually with a little phrase or design on them. I decided that there had to be people out there like me who just like the basics so that’s where I decided to create Nikki Expresisons Merch.

You are based in California, do you offer your service products internationally?

The merchandise does ship internationally and the course will be international probably at the beginning of next year. Currently it can be purchased internationally but because it is a live training it is a little difficult with the time difference. When I launch the self taught version that would be the best international option.

What are some of the fashion trends you’ve taken note of in your city that influence the selection of your store items ?

The city that I am in is very touristy therefore there is always new types of fashion coming through. I’ve noticed that people like a lot of different types of beach bags with different designs and hoodies are also big out here since it is on the colder side most of the time. Therefore there are different beach bag designs, hoodies and crop top hoodies on my website.

What is the inspiration behind your latest design collection?

My latest collection was actually inspired by me putting in my notice to leave my day job. I took a “leap of faith” to focus completely on my businesses, therefore the latest design is called “Leap of Faith”.

What is your go to fashion tips? And must have item in your travel kit?

There are a few fashion bloggers that I follow whose style I absolutely love. Everything I find is online. The must have item in my travel kit is my cell phone, big hoop earrings and a hoodie. My phone because I do everything from it, hoop earrings because they can dress up any outfit and my hoodie because I’m always prepared for the cold.

Are there certain pieces and accessories or dresses that are always in demand?

Earrings seem to always be in demand, that’s one thing that never goes out of style.

My best experiences at both is when someone tells me they love what I’m doing. At Nikki Expressions they always look forward to motivational emails I send in my newsletter or the videos I’ll post on my IG. I think that’s really awesome because my whole purpose was to help people so I’m happy to know that I’m doing what I set out to do.

What advice you give to young entrepreneurs who are contemplating following in your footsteps?

My best advice is go for it. Make smart investments in yourself and do your research. Look at your competitors, look at the people in your niche, see that the demand is and if necessary take a course. I have taken multiple courses which have all given me the knowledge to do different things. But most definitely go for it, you have absolutely nothing to lose and the possibility to gain so much.

What can we expect from you in the next 2 years or so?

Definitely a bigger online store and a course that is self taught. If you’re in my course than in the next 2 years expect a much larger Facebook group to reach out to and hopefully you’ll see me speaking at some motivational conventions.
