TIPS FOR STAYING PRODUCTIVE WHILE WORKING FROM HOME

Success comes to those who have incredible work habits and goal-oriented. In this blog post, I am going to share with you my top five personal secrets on how I stay productive while working from home. I practice 5 key traits of successful entrepreneurs so that I too can become successful in life. So far, the results have been incredible. I've managed to stay on top of my productivity game during my Q2. These are some of the elements I will be taking into account for my Q3 & Q4 as I continue to work from during the pandemic quarantine.

1. Schedule your daily breaks.

My calendar has an automatic block from 12-1 pm every day. I don't take any work phone calls or answer emails at that time. In fact, I close my laptop and step away from it. Success comes to those who have incredible habits and goal-oriented.

2. Plan your email follow up and response in the morning

You've got dedicate specific time to respond to emails, set up appointments with clients etc. The ideal time for conducting a follow-up email is in the morning at 9 am. For example, if you set up a called meeting with a client at 10 am or 3 pm that day. You can send them a little friendly reminder via email at 9 am about the meeting. That way you know for sure they are going to attend the meeting on time. This will also give you heads up whether they wish to cancel or reschedule for another day. You can then use this time to complete another important task if the meeting is postponed at 3 pm.

Time management is a major key to success.

Therefore, allocating a time slot for email is great because it helps you stay on top of your game.

3. Create a designate work station:

Apart from having a clear weekly agenda and dedicated time to respond to work emails. You also need to have a designated work station in your home. A place where you know you can stay focus, uninterrupted for a certain amount of time to get your work done. This designated work station could be your bedroom or living, kitchen island etc, For me, my designated work station is inside my room as I mentioned previously in this blog. I like working from my room because that's where my creativity comes to life. I feel focused and energized.

I highly suggest you find your zone, your mojo-work space with a comfortable desk and chair.

4. Create a daily to-do list:

The 4th most important thing is creating a daily to-do list. Every day you should have notepad reminder of important things that need to get done. Such as response to Bob's marketing proposal, follow up meeting with Sarah at 3:30 pm ET, and Team activities at 4:00 pm. The more detail you are with your daily to-do list the more effective it would be.

5. Rewards yourself for your small achievement

Like the old saying goes "Work hard, play hard".

I say work smart, reward harder. You have got to be proud of your small achievement. Take a moment to celebrate your small wins because they do matter in the long run. Practice appreciates your small effort to complete a task and reaching the target goal for each. The rewards don't have to be massive. It can be a simple as watching a new movie on Netflix, buy your favourite Ice Cream, cold glass of wine or beer, take a day off for yourself to do self-care. For those who can afford, you can take few $$$ put it towards your summer or fall trip funds. So that you have money in the bank for your next destination trip to Hawaii.

In the end, you want to appreciate your hard work and take care of your self-worth. #BOSS&GLOW
