You probably heard of moving in silence so many times but do you know what that means?
"Whoever guards his mouth and his tongue keeps himself out of trouble." —Proverbs 21:23
Suppose you are an actor, model, or content creator. In that case, you are always on the run for a new audition for gigs, or pitching brands in hopes of catching a big break. 9 out 10 you are super excited about getting to audition or submitting the pitch proposal to brands. So you end up posting about it on Social Media or telling the exciting news to your friends.
Let's get real tho, most of the time, those projects never end up falling through or not happening at all. Now you are super sad about it, right. However, in reality, you were celebrating too soon. It's like counting your chickens before the eggs hatch. STOP DOING THAT FROM TODAY!
What is moving in silence?
It's the process of doing things or more prominent projects in your life without announcing its progress. This process could be applied to anything in your life, getting a new job, purchasing a house, getting a spot on significant events, relationship milestones, having a baby, or whichever more critical event has an impact on your life. For instance, I worked at Google for nearly two years and got promoted twice from junior Rep, Small Business Trainer, and Agency Builder, senior trainer. Only selective people knew about it or knew I worked at the company because I did not share on my social media. Some of you who are reading this blog probably hear it for the first time. That was my "moving in silence" for the Digital Marketing career break.

SOMETIMES YOU BLOCK YOUR BLESSINGS by speaking too much.
I was not always moving in silence! I've worked as a Digital influencer, Event promoter, coordinator; those experiences gave me a chance to know who and what was going in the city and across the country. I would get super happy and announce the news whenever I get assigned to any upcoming event "classic habit of an event coordinator." Sometimes, these gigs ended not happening, or the project gets canceled. I've learned my fair share of moving in silence the hard work in this industry. I will only share projects once things are completely finalized or sent out after release. Since doing that, I have had more things work out well.
I have learned "The reveal” is much more exciting and the process is personal excitement.
WAIT UNTIL YOU HAVE IT
I've once heard someone saying, "Flashy things are the first to get taken. You might be showing off your new car, and here someone is secretly hoping you crash it." That's why you need to know when to move in silence or share your big news. My big sister always advises me to keep things to myself; not everyone deserves your energy. Below is a list of reasons you should always move in silence going into your new year, new age, a new phase in life.
IMPORTANCE OF MOVING IN SILENCE:
1. Less Distraction: You will be more focused on your projects. Plus, less pressure on yourself to complete it.
2. It’s no body’s business: You are doing things to improve your lifestyle, personal goal, and family lives. Whatever you do in life is your business, not for the public.
3. Surprise the competition: As a Content Creator or Influencer, the industry is super competitive. Treat your work like a business you and in business, you need to surprise people for things you do and enjoy doing it.
4. Let the success make noise: Try to let your work speak for itself. For example, Take Beyoncé's branding or marketing strategy. You do not hear that woman interviewing about things she is planning on releasing. Instead, she is busy working on her craft, avoiding distraction, and surprising her competition.
I also wanted to say that the older you get, the more you realize that every buddy does not need to know everything happening in your personal life.
