Please tell us about yourself

My name is Moses Massaquoi Jr. and I go by the stage name Yung Cutter. I am a Music Producer, Recording Artist and Song writer currently residing in the United States but I’m from a small country on the west coast of Africa called Liberia. I’ve been doing music for the past 11 years.

What is the inspiration behind your latest single ? and where do we buy it?

I have got songs recorded and not released yet cause I’m working on my first album “PRINCE OF KOLAHUN”. However, last year I released a six songs EP under the title “Moses” and it’s available for purchase on all digital platforms. I will be releasing a few singles from the album soon to start building up its momentum.

Who inspired your music career?

I got stuck to artist in the hip hop genre who were making back to back hit records, from the likes of Ludacris, Young Jezzy to Kanye West and Lil Wayne. I would say those are the few that made me focus on doing music and inspired my career.

Who are your biggest influences in the music right now ?

Lil Wayne, Dj Khaled, P Diddy, Don Jazzy, Banky W. They all have one thing in common and that is “Hard Work”. They proved that working hard can get you anywhere you want to be in this world.

For most artiste fashion plays a big part in their artistry. So what is Athena go to fashion tips?1 response

Yes, fashion plays a very important role in most artist career. It’s all part of your branding process too. My tip is, make sure you’re comfortable with what you wear. Be the creative one.

You are talented Artist, which song(s) have you written is (are) your favorite and why ?

My Favourite song I have written is called“Confidence” that was featured on the “Moses EP”. I spoke about earlier life and it’s my all time favorite song I have written. It features a talented Congolese artist by the name Abraham Mwinda. It’s one of those songs that wakes your spirit up when in moments of discouragement, disbelieve, sadness and even happiness.

What is (are) your most memorable moment (s) as a artist thus far and why?

In 2017, I was asked to headline the Runway Liberia International Showcase in Baltimore, Maryland. This was huge because being the headliner showed that my work was good and people loved it enough to give me such responsibility at a big event. I enjoyed every moment of it. I did headline again in 2018 and the experience never gets old to me.

What advice would you give to someone just starting out their music career and hoping to make it in the industry?

Be humble always. Allow yourself to keep learning. Listen to people who have been doing music for a while, they have the experience and have been through things you are yet to encounter. Last, stay true to you creativity and enjoy it at all cost.

Who are other talented singers, songwriters, fashion stylist you would hope to collaborate with?

Ice Prince from Nigeria and Nasty C from South Africa

Chocolate City record better be ready to make that Ice Prince ft Yung Cutter feature. Thank you so much being our guest feature today on the NEECEE LEXY blog. We are definitely looking forward in re-interviewing you very soon. Feel free to contact us with any update once you've released your first Album.
