5 Benefits of Working From Home

Updated: Dec 12, 2020

Morden day disruption of access to information and remote working has given us the opportunity to leverage a new form of work-place within our personal space. Special for Social Media Marketer or Digital Marketer we can work almost from anywhere as long as we have access to the internet and our laptops.

Cool right! I've been working from home for the last 4.5 years in the creative industry, Digital marketing and managing health fitness Yoga studio. Today's blog post is based on personal experience which I will be sharing "5 benefits of working from home" both as 9 to 5ers and entrepreneurs.

You might have heard of the old saying" Time is money". That's right, working for home while structuring out your weekly agenda gives that benefit in saving time to do other stuff. Now Imagine if you can cut down that one hour travel time each morning with another 30 - 60 minutes of getting ready each morning. Now you have an extra 1.5 hour to 2 hours each morning for yourself to get ready to work from home. You can utilize that time to do other stuff like a home gym, read a book, socialize with your family etc. Just like today, I took 30 minutes of my Tuesday lunch break to write this article which I normally I do on Sunday afternoon.

You have a quiet environment to do you work without disruption from others. Plus, avoiding Sally on TTC who was in a bad mood or drake with loud music 8 cubicles away. For most people, the kids might be off to school, and the house is extremely salience so you can get some work done. If you are like me you are probably in your room with your laptop and headset getting in the zone to get some work done. The key here is focused because my note on the door says " DON'T ENTRE from 9:00 am - 12:00 pm or 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm. My family knows not to come to my room during work hours. I check on them during my break.

Apart from being focused. Working from home can also give you balance. For example, you have the freedom and flexibility to do your task remotely. You actually have enough time to enjoy with family and friends. Overall, you have a sense of independence. #GOBOSS

Now let's talk about simple mathematics of addition and multiplication fraction. Working from home allows you to save money from spending on lunch, transportation, gas etc.

Can we do some math addition on your lunch fees, please. Let's say you love to eat Sushi meal for lunch instead of a nice home-cooked meal. The following cost breaks down based on 9-5 Monday to Friday office hours feasible meal.

Your favourite SUSHI spot next the office cost breakdown:

$13.50 lunch x 5 days week = $67.5 per week

$67.50 x 4 = $270 per month; in one year that equals to $3,250 per year

If you ask me that's enough fund to use for a lovely vacation trip to Europe. Let's aim for working home while working on our financial game to save enough for a beautiful experience. Now that you understand where you can save extra cash by working from home. You can now even consider using that extra cash towards investment. Let your money work for you to make more money.

You are less stressful working from the comfort of your own home then doing into the house. In late, 2015 I had an injury and was forced to leave my retail fashion job. During the recovery period, I was so afraid to work in a field that demands repetition and movement on my arm. I knew I was good with Graphic designs and video editing. I used my own skills to leverage opportunities for working from home during my recovery period. All I need was my photoshoot software, adobe illustrates membership and everything else was set. For a whole year, I was able to earn living, pay my bills at the comfort of my bedroom. The following year, I launched my blog Neecee Lexy. I started to network with other entrepreneurs from around the world via internet forms, Instagram, and Facebook group. I created a community of young entrepreneurs who similar interest as myself.
