SoJII is a multitalented Toronto-based artist. As a songwriter, producer, model and actor, his past work achievements allowed him to earn the ABEDORC Award of Excellence (Canada) and Best Youth in Music (Gidi Youth Awards 2013), as well as being nominated for Student Artist Of The Year (TUSH Awards). This week, we are highlighting our spotlight on the award winning artist SOJII. He is currently rebranding his musical career with a new taste of music and engaging in a mixtape collaboration for a global market. We get to know the artist and his future projects.

When did you start singing?

I started music at the age of 17 as a writer and producer. Then, I joined a boyband of three as a singer/writer/producer of the crew. I released my first solo single at the age of 18 and landed an endorsement contract at 20.

Who inspired your music career?

Life inspires my music, which is why my music is all about fun, happiness, education, dance and constant life happenings.

What is the inspiration behind your latest single release?

I have a drive to bring positive influence in this new generation by preaching love and peace. People need to admire each other more than bringing hatred.

What can we expect from you in the next 2 years or so?

In the next 2 years, you can expect alot of top-chart music from me. I also hope to have a debut album and take over the entertainment world, through music and acting.

Who are other talented artists you would hope to collaborate with?

Currently, I collaborate with my team, world best producer FRESCO. We work well together as he understands my sound and kind of vibe. Plus, I have collaborated with

Latino sensation rapper in Toronto, Papi A-Q. I hope to collaborate with artists like The Weeknd, Miguel, Kendrick Lamar, Rae Sremmurd, 50 Cent, Jeremih, Camila, Drake, Wale.
